About Fedor

Being a naturalized Florentine since five, I discovered my city’s historical and artistic heritage as a child. At the time I thought I was just strolling around with friends and family, but it turns out I was setting the foundation of my future career.

Years of experience & specialties

I have 5 years experience as a guide. I am a fan of everything history, arts and culture related, but I am also keen on giving recommendations on nightlife and places to eat out

Languages I'm fluent in

Italian, English, and Russian

Favorite local cuisine

Ribbollita (a traditional tuscan bread soup), which I love for it’s simplicity and the way it pairs perfectly with Tuscan olive oil

Favorite things to do in Florence & Countryside

Spending the afternoon relaxing in one of the parks around the city and then joining friends for aperitif or a boogie in town

We spent a delightful 3 hours with Fedor. He nailed the brief for the two of us and our quite different interests and his depth of knowledge and passion for his city made our time with him utterly fascinating. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, the tour was worth every penny.

Michelangelo: The Sculptures, Private Tour (2 hours, with fast-track entrance tickets included)

We went with Fedor on the Michelangelo tour to the Bargello, Accademia and the Medici Chapel. It was excellent. Fedor is so knowledgeable and personable and made history "come alive". We not only saw so much but learned so much. His enthusiasm was contagious. If you are interested in Michelangelo and art history we suggest asking for Fedor.

Money, Banks and Art in Florence (fast-track entrance tickets included)- (2 hours)

Fedor took me on a walking tour of Florence, a specialty tour to help me better understand 13th-15th century Florentine banking, the Florin currency and how the Medici family especially used their resources to completely influence the Italian Renaissance through their cultivation (Lorenzo Medici "discovered" Michaelangelo, adopted him and raised him after seeing his incredible talent as a child) and sponsorship of the arts. Fedor's knowledge was just about unlimited for my purposes. He engaged conversationally as I asked questions as easily as he followed the tour points he wanted to make. And he took care to help me customize my tour to have less walking/breaks for health reasons. I enjoyed spending the couple of hours with Fedor and I highly recommend him to you for this tour or any other he offers in Florence.
