Acropolis, Athens

"The Parthenon is one of the most recognizable monuments in the world. I always marvel at its elegance and power, a symbol of ancient Greek culture, of democracy and western civilization."
One of the main reasons why visitors flock to the Acropolis is to marvel over the emblematic Parthenon. Not only is it the biggest of the ancient structures, but it’s also the most important. Still to this day, it’s considered the most lavish of all the buildings in Greece boasting complete white marble design. Erected in the 5th century BCE, it served as a symbol of Athens’ freedom post-Greco-Persian wars. It’s dedicated to the goddess Athena. This is one of the most iconic spots to pose for a picture.
