If you’re ever lucky enough to watch a concert at the antiquated Odeon of Herodes Atticus (also simply called Herodion), jump at the opportunity! Constructed as a Roman-style theater between 161 and 174 BCE, it was restored to glory in 1950. Thanks to this, it regularly hosts events including ballet, opera, grand orchestras, dance, and theatre performances. It’s still one of the greatest open-air theaters to date. Wearing flat shoes is recommended so best to preserve its antiquated marble structure. Locate it on the Acropolis’ southwest slope.
