This balcony above the sprawling Alfama neighborhood is one of Lisbon’s finest overlooks. The panorama includes São Jorge Castle, the old city’s ancient, nested walls, and its iconic red-tiled roofs. As the name suggests, it’s also an amazing spot to enjoy the sunrise. Scads of photos and postcards commemorate familiar views that you might even recognize on sight. It’s open all day, every day.
