If you don’t want to go to a ginjinha bar but still want to try the drink, no problem. Many Alfama locals set up tables in the streets outside their homes and sell ginja for extra pocket money. These pop-up vendors may not exactly be legal, but they’re an interesting part of the city’s culture. If you’re lucky, you might even get your ginja served in an edible chocolate cup.
