"A decorative arts museum in a 17th-century palace. Tours of its workshops can be arranged to see artisans at work on bookbinding, gold leaf, marquetry, and more."
See artisans in action during a workshop tour at the Fundação Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva (FRESS). The on-site craftsmen reproduce items from yesteryears, and you can witness them working on bookbinding, gold-leafing, marquetry, and much more. Housed within a 17th-century palace, this decorative arts museum displays items and objects to transport you back in time, from wooden carriages to highly detailed gold wall sconces. Get your own hands involved during a workshop, for example, tile painting or marbled paper crafting. There are also kids’ workshops available.
