Fiesole is a little town about seven kilometers outside of Florence. You can hop on the Renaissance Ring, a network of trails around the city that pass by historical points of interest. From there, you can make the uphill trek to Fiesole to see Florence from a variety of viewpoints, as well as the beauty of the countryside. Another option is to take the bus to Fiesole and walk back down to Florence.
