Granada Local

Like most of the city’s first Catholic buildings, the San Jerónimo Monastery was also commissioned by Queen Isabella I of Castile, King Ferdinand II of Aragon, and the Catholic Monarchs. However, the monastery was founded in 1492 in Santa Fe and then moved to its current site years later. It's a combination of Gothic and Renaissance-style architecture. One of its most revered attributes is that it’s the burial site containing the remains of Gran Capitán. Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba led the Conquest of Granada against the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada.
