Santa Maria Novella, Florence & Countryside

"By far the biggest market in town. I recommend visiting if you are a vintage or second-hand clothing hunter."
This open-air market, the largest in Florence, traces its roots back to the 19th century. It’s on the banks of the Arno River in the Santa Maria Novella neighborhood near the Parco delle Cascine, where it gets its name. Browsing the stalls, you’ll find fresh produce, local cheeses, cured meats, homemade pasta, and secondhand clothing. The market is only open on Tuesday mornings but is worth a visit.
