Granada Local

If you arrived in Granada during the 11th century, the main city entrance would be via the Bib‑Rambla Gate. However, the gate that you see today is not the original, but a reconstruction, which happened in 1933. It was also relocated from Plaza Bib-Rambla to its current position in the woods on the Paseo de las Alamedas (en route to the Alhambra). Nicknamed "Arco de las Orejas," this translates to “Arch of the Ears.” It’s believed that way back when, the ears of criminals would hang from the archway for all to see.
