As the temperatures drop and the Christmas spirit fills the city of Florence come December time, the annual month-long Weihnachtsmarkt is not to be missed. Headed up in Piazza Santa Croce, wooden stalls line the square, and it’s modeled after a typical German-style Christmas market. Shop for all sorts of Christmas-themed goodies, from handicrafts to decorations, souvenirs, and clothing. Food-wise, enjoy classic bites from around Europe, from mulled wine to giant pretzels. The market is open from November 23rd-December 22nd.
