Originating in Lisbon, Fado is a typical Portuguese style of musical performance, where a fado singer leads the way, accompanied by someone playing the Portuguese guitar and a classical guitar (viola). The traditional songs are poetic. Casa da Mariquinhas is one of the most authentic spots in Porto to come and enjoy an evening of Fado. Established in 1968, it’s officially the city’s oldest Fado restaurant. Enjoy a show and dinner in one during a night here.
