Sé do Porto Cathedral
"The very foundations of the city lie here, preserving history from early Medieval times to today. I highly recommend visiting the cloister and the tiled rooftop, where you’ll find one of the most spectacular views of the old town."

The Sé do Porto Cathedral is in the Batalha district, the highest part of the city, and is nestled against the old walls that once protected Porto. Construction began in the 12th century and was finished in the 16th century, but an earlier church dating back to the 5th century once stood here. Entrance to the cathedral is free, but it costs €3 to enter the 14th-century cloister.
