"One of the villages to visit if you're interested in Alebrijes (wood-carved and hand-painted figures). You can tour many families' homes to learn about their craft, and even paint your own Alebrije."
Oaxaca de Juárez Local

Alebrijes are colorful, hand-painted wooden sculptures that are an important part of Oaxacan folk art and culture. Arrazola is a village that’s 14 kilometers southwest of Oaxaca and is famous for this art form. You can visit the homes of different villagers to learn more about their work, and you can even paint your own alebrije to take home as a unique souvenir.
