University City, Mexico City

"Located within the UNAM Campus, this charming garden boasts an impressive collection of cacti, agaves, orchids, palms, pines, and many other plants. Best of all, it’s free for everyone to enjoy."
You’ll find this garden in Coyoacán at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s campus in Ciudad Universitaria. This impressive leafy sanctuary holds over 1,600 plant species, many native to Mexico’s diverse ecosystems. Here, you’ll see everything from majestic cacti to delicate orchids, but the star attraction is the Faustino Miranda Greenhouse — which simulates a rainforest ecosystem. The garden is free for everyone and open Monday through Saturday.
