"The 15 remaining columns of this colossal temple never cease to amaze me. Towering at the end of Syngrou Avenue and beautifully lit at night, they stand as a testament to Emperor Hadrian’s ambition to complete the construction of this majestic temple"

Dedicated to Zeus (king of the ancient Greek gods) when its construction first began circa the 6th century, all that remains of the 104 Corinthian column Temple of Olympian Zeus are 15 historical columns. Simply wandering between these ruins is awe-inspiring, imagining life during the Classical Antiquity era. A grass square encloses the archaeological site. Sitting between the Temple and the Acropolis is the Arch of Hadrian, a few minutes walk across.
