The smell of fresh bread wafts through the air the moment you step inside Pugi bakery. Opening up in 1925, grab a slice of pizza, focaccia, or schiacciata, which are priced based on weight. Not only limited to savory snacks, there’s an array of sweet pastries and treats here, too. With one located in Piazza San Marco (an eight-minute walk to the Duomo), there are a further two Pugi bakeries across the city: in San Gallo and Via Giampaolo Orsini.
