Florence & Countryside Local

The original ‘Last Supper’ by da Vinci may be located in Milan, but you can marvel at Andrea del Castagno’s rendition within the walls of the Cenacolo di Sant’apollonia, specifically the refectory. Painted in the Early-Renaissance style, it was completed in 1450. Castagno was also commissioned to do the other frescoes of the Benedictine monastery (founded in 1339). It’s usually not busy here and devoid of crowds. You can truly get up close and personal with the artworks.
