City Center, Florence & Countryside

"The center of political life in Florence for over 700 years. Dominated by the city hall, Palazzo della Signoria, the square also serves as an incredible open-air museum for sculptures."
This is the main square of Florence and has been the center of the city’s politics since the 14th century. It’s seen several important events in the city’s history and features many sculptures by famous Italian artists that have political connotations. The famous Palazzo Vecchio overlooks the square, and there is an open-air sculpture gallery called Loggia dei Lanzi within the plaza, too. Right behind it is the Uffizi Galleries art museum.
