Mercato Nuovo (new market) is a semi-enclosed hall full of history. Vendors have sold their wares here since the 16th century. Behold beautiful Renaissance-style architecture as you shop for leather goods and tourist souvenirs. Don't miss the Fontana del Porcellino, a bronze fountain with a statue of a wild boar. Legend has it that rubbing its snout and tossing a coin into its mouth brings good luck and a return to Florence.
