Set out to Philopappos Hill as part of a morning hike, walk to the viewpoint after visiting the Acropolis (there is a wide pathway from here up the hill), or arrive around sunset hour where plenty locals love to chill out or picnic. No matter where you look, you’re delivered 360-degree views, especially of the surrounding ruins (which you pass by en route). The walk is relatively easy, and the area is green and quiet.
