Once the home of King Luis I and other royalty, the Neoclassical Palácio Nacional da Ajuda is now a living museum where visitors can travel back in time and get a feel of how the elite lived centuries ago. It’s Lisbon’s only royal residence, and everything about it feels truly authentic. While construction of the palace began in 1794, it underwent a few renovations over the decades to follow. During a tour, explore various rooms and floors, as well as its extensive art and decorative art collections spanning the 15th to 19th centuries. This ranges from paintings to furniture.
