Art lovers need to check out IVAM, the city's modern art museum in Ciutat Vella. It was the first modern art museum in Spain, focusing on avant-garde European works from many famous artists. Two prominently featured artists are Julio González and Ignacio Pinazo. The collection's earliest works date from 1914 and continue through the present. General admission is €5, with free admission on Wednesday afternoons and all day Sunday.
