Centro, Granada

"Discover Spain’s very first Renaissance cathedral, an architectural marvel rising from the heart of Granada. Its soaring spaces and luminous chapels invite you to experience the artistic innovation that defined a new era."
Constructed upon the former site of Granada’s main mosque from Moorish times, the Granada Cathedral (Basílica Catedral Metropolitana de la Encarnación) is awe-inspiring, even if you’re not religious. With its gold-flecked interiors, 24 stained-glass windows, high altar, and towering ceiling topped by a rotunda, you truly feel small standing inside. Religious art aficionados, there’s loads to see within the Exhibition Hall, including paintings, sculptures, hangings, goldsmith work, and ornaments. Other impressive cathedral sections are the bell tower, clock tower, and side covers.
