Centro, Granada

"Step into the resting place of the Catholic Monarchs, where the very foundations of modern Spain were laid. Visiting the Royal Chapel offers a unique opportunity to connect with the pivotal figures who shaped the course of Spanish history."
As Granada’s first-ever chapel, constructed from 1505 to 1517 post-Moorish rulings, Capilla Real is a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic-meets-Medieval architecture. The particular design style is named Isabelline Gothic, after Queen Isabella I of Castile (who ordered its construction, along with the Catholic Monarchs, and was buried here). Admire its intricate interiors like the temple, royal mausoleums (and the crypt), and the main Baroque altarpieces and sculptures. Visit the Sacristy Museum or join for Sunday mass.
