Located below Florence, and passing by Arezzo en route, Cortona is where the famous 2004 movie, "Under The Tuscan Sun" was set and filmed. Boasting stunning views sweeping the Val di Chiana, the hilltop town is also rich in Etruscan heritage. Don’t miss the Museo dell’Accademia Etrusca. It’s also a great destination for hikers, and one of the most popular is up to the Medici Fortress. The city was built 500 meters above sea level and is 1.5 hours from Florence.
