Centro, Oaxaca de Juárez

"The main cathedral in the city, located in the heart of downtown, is a Catholic church from the 16th century, featuring beautiful stained glass windows inside."
This is Oaxaca’s main Catholic cathedral. Construction started in 1535 but the church wasn’t officially completed until 1640. There’s been a lot of reconstruction over the years due to damage from earthquakes, but you can still see the original clock that was a gift from King Fernando VII and an 18th-century pipe organ. Dress modestly and try to visit during the week when it's less crowded.
