Porto

"A northern town with roots tracing back to Roman times, filled with Baroque architecture and stunning gardens. If you’re a fan of religious architecture, I highly recommend spending a day here."
Braga is 55 kilometers northeast of Portugal and can be reached by car or public transportation. It was built more than 2,000 years ago, and remnants of its Roman roots are scattered around the town. Highlights include the Braga Cathedral, Bom Jesus Sanctuary, the Nossa Senhora do Sameiro Sanctuary, and several other chapels and churches. It’s an excellent day trip for architecture lovers and history buffs.
