San Pedro, Granada

"A great museum featuring artifacts spanning Iberian, Roman, and medieval periods."
Among Spain’s destinations, Granada is one of the most interesting from an archaeological and historical viewpoint. The Archaeological Museum of Granada is dedicated to excavations around the Granada region. This includes the Palaeolithic, Neolithic, Iberian, Phoenician, Roman, and Moorish periods. Between two levels are seven permanent exhibition halls. Explore ancient vessels, sculptural works, ornaments, ruins, fragments of buildings, and other fascinating items. The museum opened in 1879 and is now housed within a former 16th-century mansion.
