Centro Histórico, Mexico City

Bars
Pulquería Panana
"A pub where the highlight is pulque, a fermented drink made from agave. Located inside a colonial building, it also features a museum where you can learn about this ancient, thousand-year-old drink."

Since Pulquería Panana is downstairs from the Museo del Pulque y las Pulquerías (Museum of Pulque and Taverns Serving Pulque), the watering hole is a great stop for Mexico City visitors curious about the thousand-year-old fermented drink derived from agave. After you've downed your drink — made from Tlaxcala agaves brought in daily — head upstairs to wander around the museum independently or on a guided tour.
