Centro, Oaxaca de Juárez

"An ex-convent built for the Dominican Order in the 16th century, it is now a museum showcasing pre-Hispanic art and the religious history of Oaxaca."
This beautiful museum is inside a 16th-century convent that was created for the Dominican Order. Today, it’s where you can learn more about the region’s history and culture through fields like crafts, medicine, and food. The collection has pieces that date back to the pre-Hispanic period and up through contemporary times. Most of the signage is in Spanish, but there are some English translations. Admission is 70 pesos.
