Old Quarter, Hanoi

"This event celebrates the end of harvest season and the full moon. It is a time for families to reunite, give thanks, and enjoy mooncakes and lanterns."
This festival, also called Children’s Festival, marks the end of the harvest season and celebrates the full moon. It takes place in the middle of the eighth lunar month, but preparations start many weeks before. There are decorations, especially lanterns, dancing in the street, and mooncake stalls on every corner. The best street to visit in Hanoi during the Mid-Autumn Festival is Hang Ma in the Old Quarter.
