Since its inception over 25 years ago, Barcelona’s international short film and animation festival has become an acclaimed cultural event with worldwide recognition. Every year, Mecal curates the best films from around 4,000 entries and awards 15+ prizes in different categories. Film buffs flock to Mecal’s free outdoor screenings at various venues throughout the summer months (bar service with drinks and food optional).
