The Crystal Palace, built in 1865, no longer stands. A new concert hall stands in its place, surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with plants, sculptures, and fountains. Some of the walking paths lead to the Douro River, and others lead to secluded lookouts with views of the city. The Crystal Palace is a popular spot for photography, picnicking, and simply relaxing.
