Cemitério dos Prazeres

Before you wonder why a cemetery is a landmark must-visit, wait until you catch sight of the statues and monuments that are within. Not only this, but the gravesites are large-scale as many important people from Portugal’s history have been laid to rest here, from artists to generals. Some even look like temples; they are so grand. Notable burials at Cemitério dos Prazeres include the poet Cesário Verde, fado singer Amália Rodrigues, and the country’s first prime minister. It makes for a nice walk after riding the famous Tram 28 (which ends here).
