Castells are a unique part of Catalan culture that has to be seen to be believed. These human towers stretch into the sky and are an impressive feat of strength, skill, and teamwork that are part of many street festivals and celebrations throughout the year. Neighborhood casteller clubs practice throughout the year to show off their skills at events like La Mercè, official holidays, or street festivals, mainly in the warmer months.
