Boavista, Porto

"Housed in an iconic modernist Porto building, this museum tells the story of a bourgeois family, highlighting remarkable women artists and their art collection. Surrounding the house is a charming, mysterious garden with a lake and ancient stone ruins."
This small museum is inside a modernist building that dates back to 1958. Marta Ortigão Sampaio was an art collector who came from a bourgeois family of artists. There were several women in her family who were painters. Upon her death, the home and its collection became a museum, which features paintings, drawings, and jewelry. Outside, there is a nice garden with a variety of stone ruins and ornate benches. Tickets cost €4.
