Tokyo Local

This temple traces its origins to 1393, but many of the buildings are relatively recent reconstructions. It’s the principal Japanese Buddhist temple of the Jodo sect in the Kanto Region and is located in Minato-ku at the base of the Tokyo Tower. There’s a museum, a mausoleum, and many intriguing statues. Admission to the temple is free, but there are admission fees for the museum and mausoleum.
