Vilar de Mouros is a music festival at the end of August each year in Viana do Castelo, about 75 kilometers outside Porto. This three-day festival is the oldest in Portugal and attracts crowds of all ages. It can be compared to Woodstock, as many famous rock musicians come to perform for festival-goers. Besides the music, the village itself is also worth checking out.
