Yanaka, Tokyo

"A group of renovated traditional Japanese houses, now functioning as a restaurant, small beer hall, and shop."
This monument in Taito City is quite unique. Here, you’ll find a complex of houses from the Showa period originally built in 1938. Since then, they’ve been renovated for other purposes but still retain their original charm and feel. Today, the houses include a beer hall, bakery, restaurants, bookstore, and specialty shop selling salts and vinegar.
