This Buddhist temple was founded by the monk Shinran in the 12th century. The original structure burned down in 1657, was rebuilt, then destroyed by an earthquake in 1923 before it was rebuilt again. Its structure is modeled after ancient Buddhist architecture, which is more prevalent in India and other Asian countries. Visitors are invited to make offerings in the temple and roam the grounds.
