You can reach Mount Takao by train in less than an hour. It has several hiking trails that lead up to the summit, which has an elevation of 599 meters. This mountain has been a place of worship for more than 1,000 years, so stop to see the Shinto-Buddhist temple at the top. Mount Takao also has a monkey park, wildflower garden, and nature museum.
