São Vicente, Lisbon

"Organized by local clubs in October, this event challenges cyclists to pedal uphill along the 550-meter climb of Rua do Vale de Santo António on the Rampa do Vale de Santo António."
Although only 600 meters long, Rua do Vale de Santo António in Graça is one of the city's steepest streets. In October, there is a cycling race to see who can pedal up this cobble-stoned street the fastest. This tradition started in 1941 and ran until 1954. It resumed again in 2021. The race offers a lively atmosphere where onlookers can enjoy cheering on the cyclists.
