Established in 1730, Stohrer is iconic, and in fact, was founded by King Louis XV’s actual pastry chef, Nicolas Stohrer — hence the name. Due to this fact, it’s now marked as a historical site and sits on its original road, the cobblestoned Rue Montorgueil. Arrive for the pastries, duh, and try one of their famed ‘puits d’amour’ (meaning ‘wells of love’). It’s essentially a shortcrust pastry filled with vanilla crème brûlée inside.
