Sintra is a picturesque town about 30 kilometers northwest of Lisbon that you can reach by car or public transportation. Because parking is limited, it’s best to avoid driving. Sintra is at the base of the forested Sintra Mountains, and the entire area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town has beautiful palaces and architecture, lush parks, and plenty of places where you can try authentic regional dishes.
