Sant Pol de Mar is a beach town that’s about 50 kilometers northeast of Barcelona. You can get there by public transportation in about an hour. It has a historic 10th-century monastery that sits on a hill over the village, as well as many examples of modernist architecture. Sant Pol de Mar has 10 beaches that are more peaceful than Barcelona’s, and excellent seafood dining options.
