These tidal pools were designed by Pritzker Award-winning Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira in the 1960s. They artfully blend in with the rocky coastline and are a perfect place to enjoy a swim in the summer. The pools are in Leça da Palmeira, which is about 12 kilometers northeast of Porto. You can get there in just half an hour by car, but public transportation is also available.
