Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera) is home to the single largest collection of artwork in Milan. You’ll find masterpieces dating back to the 13th century inside the Baroque-style Palazzo Brera. The majority of the paintings are religious-themed, highlighted by Andrea Mantegna’s The Lamentation of Christ. Plan to spend an entire day at the Palazzo, which is also home to Brera Botanical Garden and the Braidense National Library.
