Hikers should check out Passadiços do Paiva in Arouca, which is about 80 kilometers southeast of Porto. Here, you’ll find 8 kilometers of walking paths in a natural area that remains relatively untouched. This natural sanctuary is home to endangered animal species, quartz crystals, and the clear waters of the Paiva River. The route can be a bit steep and challenging, so it’s not for beginners.
