"The Prehistoric Rock Art of the Côa Valley rock art was listed UNESCO World Heritage in 1998. For Archaeology and Art lovers like me, here you’ll find the dawn of human cultural development."
For those who love archaeology, a trip to the Parque Arqueológico do Vale is a must. It’s about 200 kilometers east of Porto and best reached by car. The park, which is in the valley of the Côa River, features rock formations covered in Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Iron Age drawings. These engravings were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 for their importance to human history.
